The Bedwell Butterfly Garden

Summer Vegetable Cart
The Green Team strives to help students learn more about their environment. Our various sub-committees concentrate on different environmental aspects: Recycling, Fall Bulb Sale and our Gardens (Butterfly Garden/Monarch Waystation, Native Species Area and the Vegetable Garden). Through these subcommittees we are able to give the students opportunities to practice good habits when it comes to recycling, understanding plant and insect life cycles and making environmentally conscious choices in all areas of daily life.

The Green Team and the Bedwell Garden Club plan to participate in a "Carton2Garden" program at Bedwell this Spring, where students will reuse milk cartons as planters for milkweed seedlings.   The Bedwell cafeteria has also eliminated the use of plastic straws, and has replaced with paper straws!

The Green Team has many more wonderful ideas and programs ahead, which are made possible with funds generated through the Fall Bulb Sale and most importantly sub-committee volunteers like you!   Thank you for your support!

The Green Team is happy to share that the Bedwell Garden has been recognized as a Schoolyard Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation!
